ENCOMPASS SIGN Triples Manufacturing Capacities Fueled by Record Earnings in Fiscal 2018
Production times for Thermoformed ADA signage is significantly reduced due to expanded manufacturing capabilities at Encompass Sign
GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn., Jan. 28, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Propelled by the increase in demand for thermoformed ADA signage, as specified by a growing number of architects and EGD firms, Encompass Sign has re-invested record earnings into 4 new pieces of large-format, capital equipment.
Included in the expansion is one of the world's largest, hydraulic, thermoforming press specifically designed for producing highly-durable ADA signs. The Power requirements of the massive Press led to a new dedicated Power service from the local electric company with the capacity of generating 4 times the previous supply of Power. According to Phil Quattrocchi, President of Encompass, "this unique Press is a game-changer for us as well as the industry, in that it enables us to fabricate thermoformed sign pieces 2.4 times larger than what currently exists in the market. Plus, it has had a dramatic impact on the efficient nesting of multiple sign pieces in a single production run. Both advantages enable us to slash production times for our clients."
To support the increased production capacities a pair of Multicam-APEX 3R 5'x10' routers have been installed. Touted as the next generation of CNC routers, the pair features the latest in gantry architecture as well as automatic tool changers, high-frequency spindles, auto-calibrating probes and an industry-leading slew acceleration. Additional skilled machinists and designers were hired to maximize the capabilities resident within the new equipment.
The new-age capabilities and technical expertise will enable Encompass to shorten turn times and gain processing efficiencies. This combination will result in increased value for Encompass Sign's growing base of customers who now require thermoformed, compression-molded ADA signs for their Projects. One of the most popular trends in the architectural sign and design industry has been the transition from ordinary photopolymer ADA signs to the new-age thermoformed tactile ADA signs. The thermoforming process yields a superior sign, at typically reduced costs and is considered a "photopolymer equivalent" at the low end of the thermoforming capability spectrum.
