Acquisition adds edge deployment, simulation and distributed data technology to Enfuse's forward-deployed engineering model as Idaho's AI infrastructure ecosystem accelerates.
IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Enfuse today announced that it has acquired Seattle-based Kubia, an AI infrastructure company that developed technology for deploying and operating artificial intelligence across edge devices, private infrastructure and complex physical environments.
The acquisition adds Kubia's intellectual property in edge application operations, simulation, distributed data services and resilient execution to Enfuse's Physical AI platform and roadmap, with the goal of shortening the path from a working AI prototype to a dependable production system.
Enfuse combines forward-deployed engineering with product and R&D to build Physical AI and sovereign AI systems that operate across customer-controlled infrastructure. Its engineers work alongside customers to understand how AI must interact with existing data, equipment, applications, workflows and security requirements. Recurring deployment challenges then become reusable software, integrations and platform capabilities.

Why Production Still Breaks
Physical AI allows software to perceive, understand and respond to the physical world through cameras, sensors, machines, vehicles, robots and other connected systems. Unlike applications operating primarily in a browser or centralized cloud, these systems often must work across different devices, networks, data sources and security boundaries, sometimes without persistent connectivity.
Kubia developed technology addressing these challenges, including edge application deployment and lifecycle management, simulation and validation before models touch live equipment, distributed operational data services, device operations and resilient execution when connectivity is limited.

Idaho's AI Infrastructure Stack Comes Together
The acquisition comes as Idaho sees significant investment across several layers of infrastructure required for the next generation of AI.
On August 20, Micron Technology announced Micron Research Labs, headquartered in Boise and backed by a planned $10 billion investment over the next decade. The organization will focus on memory, compute architectures, packaging and future semiconductor manufacturing for the AI era.
Idaho National Laboratory is working on another increasingly critical constraint: power. INL is evaluating nuclear energy, grid integration and resilient power approaches for rapidly growing AI and data-center loads, including small modular reactors and other advanced nuclear technologies.
Boise State University is expanding Idaho's research and talent base. On August 31, the university announced a nearly $8 million National Science Foundation award to lead the XTREME resilient-microelectronics initiative with partners including Micron, INL, the University of Idaho and colleges across the state.
The momentum has drawn national attention. On August 27, President Donald Trump highlighted Micron's planned $10 billion research investment and its importance to U.S. leadership in AI and advanced computing.

What Comes Next
Enfuse will integrate Kubia's technology into its Physical AI roadmap, initially focusing on critical infrastructure, intelligent facilities, distributed cameras and sensor networks, transportation, connected equipment, and remote or mission-critical operations. Jess Barnett and the Kubia engineering team will continue their work within Enfuse as that integration proceeds.
Future enterprise AI will not be confined to a browser or centralized data center. It will operate alongside people, equipment, infrastructure and machines.
