Our advisors were easily about to adapt to the unprecedented conditions throughout 2020, due, in part, to the proprietary systems and tools developed by Engel & Völkers or available through our Partner Network.

Engel & Völkers Florida today announced its 2020 performance report. Despite the global coronavirus pandemic and racial unrest, the company saw significant year-over-year increases, maintained a steady stream of transactions at all price points, grew advisor count through talent attraction, and expanded it’s franchise network with additional locations through the state.

“None of these achievements would have been possible without the hard work of our License Partners and their advisors in each of the communities we proudly serve,” said Timo Khammash, Managing Partner of Engel & Völkers Florida. “We are optimistic about the future and look forward to continuing to deliver on our promises. As a purpose driven organization, we’re already hard at work identifying and implementing ways that we can make a positive impact on all of our businesses in 2021.”

In 2020, Engel & Völkers Florida recorded 4,304 transactions across its 34 shops; the sales volume closed increased by almost 52 percent to $2.3 billion and home values increased by 7.9 percent. The network also saw a 33 percent increase in advisor growth; welcoming more than 300 new advisors who brought over $400 million in production with them. These new advisors in Florida also represent 34 percent of all advisors added to the entire global network in 2020. This growth rate is expected to accelerate in 2021 as the company sold franchise rights to 10 new markets: Amelia Island, Gainesville, Hollywood Beach, Melbourne Beachside, Miami Coconut Grove, Neptune Beach, Orlando, Palm Coast, St. Pete Beach and South Tampa.

“We quickly realized that the real estate market had not stopped, rather it shifted,” said Peter Giese, Chief Growth Officer at Engel & Völkers Florida. “Our advisors were easily about to adapt to the unprecedented conditions throughout 2020, due, in part, to the proprietary systems and tools developed by Engel & Völkers or available through our Partner Network.”

Engel & Völkers shops reported that 25 percent or more of their closed transactions were generated from digital efforts and that they were able to sell homes twice as fast than their local competition. Engel & Völkers 30A Beaches experienced double digit growth, increasing production by 72 percent; the highest growth rate in Engel & Völkers Americas.

“In speaking with our leaders in every market we serve, the term ‘unimaginable’ seemed to be most prevalent in describing the market and the year in general,” said Anthony Hitt, president and CEO, Engel & Völkers Americas. “These results are reflective of more than the market itself, but of the caliber of individuals within our network, and I couldn’t be more proud. What we witnessed amongst our network was nothing short of cultural magic in how everyone supported one another. In 2021 we will continue to focus on our people to help them support their clients and generate continued growth.”

Engel & Völkers Florida is continuing its franchise expansion efforts to identify potential partners in premium first and second home markets throughout the state including Bay County, Charlotte County, Escambia County, Franklin County, Gulf County, Hernando County, Leon County, Manatee County, Marion County, Osceola County, Pasco County, Polk County, Sarasota County, St. Lucie County and Volusia County. The Master License Partner is also working closely with its existing brokerage shops to gain additional market share in areas such as Brevard County, Broward County, Hillsborough County, Miami-Dade County, Monroe County, Orange County, Palm Beach County and Pinellas County.
