Entries are currently open for the 2020 Second Annual Indie Authors Short Story Contest
Authors Marketing Guild announces its Short story contest that promotes writing while giving back to the community through donations of the anthologies to Title 1 Schools & Libraries.
AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 12, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Authors Marketing Guild, LLC is proud to sponsor the second annual Indie Authors Short Story Contest, and the sixth annual Texas Authors Short Story contest with the assistance of Indie Lector Bookstore.
This annual event has helped to raise over $10,000 for Drop Everything And Read Texas/Indie (http://DearTexas.info or http://DEARIndie.org), a non-profit which gets books into Title 1 schools and libraries.
Each year the contest is open to any indie author around the world with no set topic or genre. An author can submit any story that is approximately 3,000 words for judging. The entry fee is a mere $35 per story which helps to raise funds for the DEAR literacy programs. The DEAR programs distribute over 1,000 copies of the final anthology to libraries around the country.
"What sets this contest apart is the winning authors can add a special paragraph explaining why they wrote the story," said B Alan Bourgeois founder and director of the DEAR programs. "This gives readers a deeper, more personal insight into the author that they normally would not get to experience."
To enter the contest, writers can submit their works at http://IndieLector.Store, the only bookstore that pays authors their fair share with up to 80% of the book sale.
