EnviroLeather™ teamed up with SmithGroup's healthcare interior designer, Aileen Avila-Banaag to design the Carto.graph Collection. "I was working on a project for Kaiser Permanente when I realized there was a limited selection of patterned PVC-free faux leather upholstery that would hold up to the unique demands of a 24/7 healthcare environment. When I found out EnviroLeather™ by LDI was adding more patterns to their growing product line I thought "let me help you help me". I was looking for patterns that could be used as a workhorse and coordinate with solid EnviroLeather™ collections from LDI. I wanted contemporary and sophisticated patterns that could crossover to other project types, such as workplace and education," said Aileen Avila-Banaag of SmithGroup.
The Carto.graph Collection is comprised of three patterns inspired by the textural weave of the city grid, the gradient flow of the bay and the tonal slopes of the hills. The collection is well-suited for a variety of public and patient healthcare areas providing durability, ease of maintenance and contemporary design that coordinates well with the extensive product line LDI has built with EnviroLeather™.
Carto.graph is produced with EnviroLeather™ by LDI's award winning digital print process that allows for 5-yard runs to be printed on demand with much lower energy consumption and waste. The process uses more eco-friendly materials by incorporating water-based systems to replace toxic solvents.
