ATLANTA, March 6, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Envision Plastics, a leading producer of mechanically recycled High Density Polyethylene and Polypropylene Post-Consumer Resin (HDPE and PP PCR) products in North America, announced today that it earned a silver recognition medal from EcoVadis for its sustainability efforts. Envision's ranking puts them within the top 20% of those participating in the assessment and indicates their ongoing commitment to sustainability, with an emphasis on environmental policies, carbon footprint, labor, and safety laws. It also shows an increase in the company's rating from last year.
"We are proud to have earned the silver medal from EcoVadis, as it recognizes our commitment to sustainability and the growth that we have achieved over the past year," said Roberto Fontanillas, Vice President/General Manager, of Envision Plastics. "Sustainability has always been at the core of the innovations we achieve and the products we create, with the intent of helping our customers achieve their own sustainability goals through market-leading recycled plastic solutions - ultimately leading them to grow their business. Therefore, being sustainable ourselves is critical."
Envision has long been a leader in creating innovative sustainable solutions, such as its EcoPrime® product line. EcoPrime® is HDPE PCR made from curbside-collected, post-consumer food and beverage containers and is especially unique because the FDA has issued a letter of non-objection, allowing it to be used for direct food contact.
The EcoVadis assessment helps companies track and measure a variety of environmental, social, and ethical performance indicators, or Pillars of Sustainability, on an annual basis. The findings from the assessment not only track and rank the successes, but also help identify areas of improvement so companies can remain on a path of a more sustainable future.
"When Envision became a part of Altium in 2014 it was one more step in our goal of being a sustainability leader within the plastics industry" said Brian Hankin, Altium Chief of Marketing and Innovation Officer. "We are proud of Envision's work and pleased to receive the Silver ranking. We will use the feedback to continue to emphasize our commitment to sustainability and seek opportunities to continue to drive those innovations forward."
