“Justice for You, Equals Justice for All” – Tony Smith, Director, Equal Justice Now

Equal Justice Now is a social advocacy group whose mission is to preserve the rights of our citizens. Founded by Tony Smith, their immediate objective is to stop funding ineffective and expensive bail legislation.

The Benjamin Crump Awards are given to those who are committed to social, equal justice and advocacy. No one exemplifies this more than our honorees Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Judge Greg Mathis, Darrell D. Miller, Esq., Jemele Hill, Willard Jackson, and KJLH. The awards will be held on January 16th at The Venue of Hollywood 6801 Hollywood Boulevard Suite 200 Los Angeles, CA 90028. The event will run from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm PST.

In addition to our honorees, the event will also be attended by some of Hollywood’s hottest stars, such as Natasha Alam (True Blood and Entourage), Novi Brown (Tyler Perry’s Sistas), Patrick Faucette (The Haves & The Have Nots), NBA Youngboy, Persia White (Girlfriends and The Vampire Diaries), Katrina “Kat Tat” Jackson (VHI Love & Listings, Black Ink Crew: Chicago), Petri “Byrd” Hawkins-Byrd (Bailiff Judge Judy), Michael Colyar (The Princess & the Frog, Norbit, House Party 3), Obba Babatunde (How High, Life, Black Dynamite), Ogom “OG” Chijindu (VH1 Basketball Wives), Damion Hall (R&B Group GUY), Rushion McDonald (Think Like a Man, Sister Sister, The Parkers), Rosci Diaz (BET, Soul Ties, The Bounce Back) and so many more. The night will also feature a special performance by Jordyn Simone from The Voice, and comedy from Annie “McFunny” McKnight. The event will also be hosted by a surprise celebrity emcee.
