Server offers high performance and customizability ideal for enterprise-level data analytics

Equus Compute Solutions (http://www.equuscs.com) announces the release of its new G4660 4U 8xGPU server, ideal for high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, deep learning, and massively parallel computing environments. Compared with traditional CPU-centric platforms, this GPU platform offers higher performance, reduced rack space requirements, and lower power consumption, in a server package ideal for enterprise-level data analytics.

The innovative dual root complex G4660 server deploys a pair of Intel® Xeon® scalable processors. The motherboard features a set of four PLX PEX8747 PCIe switch chips to provide the connectivity for the 8 GPU card slots. There is additional space next to the 8 GPU cards in the server for a 9th PCIe x16 slot that is ideal for high speed networking or NVMe retimer deployment.

The mechanical design of the G4660 chassis allows expansion cards to fully utilize the 4U enclosure, allowing the G4660 to deploy the widest range of accelerator cards in the industry without requiring a specialized domed lid for the power connectors of active GPU cards. The G4660 also features memory expandable up to 3 TB.
All Equus GPU servers have the unique advantage of flexible GPU sourcing options – install your own GPUs, consign GPUs to Equus for factory installation, or purchase turnkey GPU server systems.

“Our customers have been asking for the flexibility to source GPUs in different ways on high performance servers,” said Lee Abrahamson, CTO of Equus Compute Solutions. “Our GPU servers, such as the G4660 server, are the ideal cost-optimized solutions for a wide range of applications and workloads. At the same time, these innovative platforms provide benefits of scale and volume, component standardization, ease of service logistics, and the means to avoid vendor lock-in.”

The G4660 4U 8xGPU server supports Intel® Xeon® scalable CPUs and NVIDIA Tesla GPUs, a wide range of SSD/HDD hot-swap storage options, OpenBMC readiness for open systems management, and Redfish support.
