BROOKLYN, N.Y., Oct. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Eriksen Translations Inc. (http://www.eriksen.com), a leading Language Service Provider, received the WBE Access New York City Award on Friday at the Women Presidents' Educational Organization's (WPEO) Annual Breakthrough Breakfast at New York's Plaza Hotel. The award honors the WPEO Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) that reported the most Done Deals with the City of New York during the challenge period.
Eriksen is proud to be recognized for the support it provides to New York City agencies such as the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs, the Commission on Human Rights, the Comptroller's Office, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and the Department of Sanitation. For more than 20 years, the company has supplied translation, localization, typesetting, third-party review, and interpreting services to New York City agencies that serve the needs of residents with limited-English proficiency.
"We are honored to be recognized for the long-term partnerships we maintain with New York City agencies," said Vigdis Eriksen, Founder and CEO of Eriksen Translations. "My team is proud to do work that helps strengthen local communities and supports diversity and immigrant rights throughout the city."
This is the eighth time that Eriksen has received a Done Deals award from the WPEO, attesting to the company's leadership as a woman-owned business. While this award recognizes Eriksen for its work with New York City agencies, the company also supports clients in financial services, marketing, and advertising, as well as nonprofits and leading museums and cultural institutions.
The Done Deal Challenge was developed to celebrate and publicize business conducted between WBEs and WPEO corporate sponsors, as well as the Public Sector. The organization announced that 13,622 contracts were completed with certified WBEs in the New York region from April 2018 through March 2019, representing a 62% increase in dollar volume over last year.
