AI has already reached the clerk's office.eScribe's 2026 State of the Clerk's Office Report, conducted with the Research Committee of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) and drawing on more than 500 clerks across the United States and Canada, found that 53% now use AI in their role, with 25% applying it to minutes drafting.
Those findings underscore the importance of keeping clerks in control of AI-generated content. AI Minutes builds review into the drafting process. Clerks can accept, decline, or regenerate each section before adding it to the existing minutes editor, retaining control over what becomes part of the record.

Most AI documentation tools operate as standalone transcription products, requiring clerks to move files between disparate systems. AI Minutes generates the draft inside eScribe, in the same environment used to build the agenda, run the meeting, and publish the record. Capabilities at launch include per-agenda-item drafting; three configurable minutes types; speaker identification; accept, decline, and regenerate controls; and direct insertion into the existing minutes editor.
