Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) June 04, 2014 -- The ETC (Emerging Technology Centers) – Baltimore City’s award-winning technology innovation center – today announced it has added two new In Residence professionals to the team. Caroline Worrall, CFA, CPA will serve as the CFO In Residence while Jorge Castillo, MBA, will serve as the CMO In Residence.
As part of the existing In Residence program at the ETC, where qualified professionals in their field offer management consulting and services for any and all ETC companies, Worrall and Castillo will provide the incubator’s technology start-ups with guidance and advice pertaining to their fields of expertise.
With more than 20 years experience, Worrall will work with ETC tenants to develop and implement performance-improving strategies. In addition to providing guidance on accounting and financial modeling, she’ll also help growing companies look at ways to efficiently and effectively manage operations and walk them through any funding and investment deals. Previously, Worrall has held several C-level positions, including positions as CFO/COO for Medval and CFO/VP of Finance and Administration at Reactive NanoTechnologies, an early ETC Affiliate company.
Castillo will work with the ETC tenants to develop integrated sales and marketing plans, allowing for strategic growth. Castillo’s background in business development, marketing, and technology allows him to understand the unique sales and communications needs of a tech start up. As the Corporate Director for Business Development and Marketing at Passport Health, Castillo helped grow the company during the financial recession by transforming Passport Health into a trusted publisher of timely travel medical information. This positioned Passport Health as a leader in the global Travel Medicine arena. Castillo was also the Director of Analytics and Return on Investment at R2Integrated, a 2013 ETC graduate company where he focused on creating multi-source automated digital reporting dashboards that resulted in cutting reporting time from several hours to seconds

In addition to Worrall and Castillo’s recent appointments to the In Residence program, the ETC has added 19 new companies since the first of the year. This marks the first time in its history that both its facilities – at 101 North Haven Street near the City’s Highlandtown community and at 1101 East 33rd Street near Johns Hopkins University – are filled to capacity.
