NEW YORK, Sept. 29, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Eurasia Group Foundation (EGF) today announced the appointment of Zachary Karabell, a leading expert on history, economics, and international relations, as chair of its board of directors. Karabell will work closely with EGF staff and the board to guide the organization's foreign policy research and outreach and its development of free educational resources on global issues.

Karabell is an accomplished author, commentator, and investor. He is a contributing editor at Politico and a regular contributor to publications such as Time, The New York Times, Wired, Foreign Affairs, and The Washington Post. He was previously a columnist for Slate, Reuters, and The Atlantic, where he wrote "The Edgy Optimist" column. Karabell is the author of more than a dozen books, including The Last Campaign: How Harry Truman Won the 1948 Election, which won the 2000 Chicago Tribune Heartland Award for best nonfiction book of the year, and most recently, Inside Money: Brown Brothers Harriman and the American Way of Power.
In addition to his work with EGF, Karabell is the founder of the Progress Network at New America, an initiative that promotes ideas and news that point to a better future. He is also a cohost of the Progress Network's podcast, What Could Go Right? Karabell is the president of River Twice Capital and serves on the boards of PEN America and New America. Previously, he served as head of global strategies at Envestnet and was president of Fred Alger & Company. He received a doctorate from Harvard University in history and international affairs.
