Jon Anthony Hauser was raised on a dairy farm in Northern Wisconsin. By age 21, he graduated cum laude from Monmouth College in Illinois with degrees in Political Science and History, awarded Departmental Honors and named a Senate Scholar by that institution. Hauser was also inducted into the Phi Alpha Theta international historical honor society. Following college, he spent the next decade immersed in the ultra-competitive arena of politics and political campaigns. Frustrated by the refusal of politicians and the career bureaucrats to put the interests of the people ahead of their own ideological bias and personal motives, Hauser joined the private sector. However, he continued to nurture his other great passion, history.
