DELFT, Netherlands, July 1, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In partnership with Lýsir, a company leader in providing connectivity for IoT devices and applications, Everynet launches its LoRaWAN network for IoT digital transformation in Iceland, where 65% of the population and large industrial sites are already covered in the Capital Region surrounding Reykjavík. The newly formed partnership will exploit a Low-Power Wide-Area network to allow a large number of sensors, metering and other devices to provide useful information and insights on several parameters and to decide and act accordingly.
Currently, Everynet offers its IoT digital transformation services in 7 countries worldwide, including Brazil, Indonesia and Spain, with more than 6 million messages managed daily on its carrier-grade Network Server. There are multiple advantages connected to exploiting a LoRaWAN network with Everynet. Low cost of the service and of the infrastructure, long-lasting battery life of the devices, signal long range and real-time, bi-directional communication are just some of the main features of the open IoT standard.
Having its roots deeply embedded in the telecommunications industry in Iceland has given Lýsir the perfect platform to launch into the field of IoT solutions. Already able to offer a variety of Smart solutions, Lýsir's ambition is to go even further, making Iceland one of the Smartest societies in the world.
The availability of Everynet LoRaWAN network and the partnership with Lýsir will contribute to the implementation of a list of ambitious IoT projects that will have a profound impact on several fields. The main applications are within Smart City, Smart Utilities and Industry 4.0 and account for, but are not limited to:
- Implementing waste management solutions to reduce collection costs and carbon emissions.
- Using sensors to check air quality both indoor and outdoor in order to prevent low oxygen rates and air pollution, respectively.
- Reducing energy consumption and energy related costs for municipalities by introducing sensors on street lights.
- Installing sensors to monitor building temperature and humidity, reducing the risk of workers health complications and expensive building damages.
- Implementing water metering sensors to control water flows, avoid leakages and prevent water waste.
- Monitoring assets and goods through asset tracking solutions that can be deployed both in the whole supply chain and to cover the last mile to the final customer.
Together with Sensoneo, provider of smart waste management solutions, sensors and applications, Everynet and Lýsir are already working on Smart Waste Management solutions, among other projects. The companies aim to change the way waste is managed, monitoring waste and collecting real-time data to optimize the pick-up routes and frequencies and make the overall process more efficient and environmental-friendly.
"Icelanders have shown themselves to be fast adapters of technological advances, so Iceland is a key country for the implementation of sustainable use cases that will accelerate the digitalization of the country and prevent waste of useful resources, providing real-time information to support decision makers in their day-to-day activities," says Lawrence Latham, CEO of Everynet.
