Exclusive East Coast Concours Rolling Onto Kiawah Island April 2016
Kiawah Island, SC (PRWEB) July 10, 2015 -- Collectors and enthusiasts are invited to enjoy spring in the Lowcountry, as the 2016 Kiawah Island Motoring Retreat (KIMR) rolls onto Kiawah Island April 15-17, 2016. Located at the entrance to the famed Ocean Course, this celebration of outstanding automobiles features an entire weekend of events.
The highlight is the Sunday judged Concours featuring world-class domestic and foreign classic and antique automobiles. Executive Director of the Concours is Paul Ianuario, Chief Judge is Dave Olimpi, and Ken Gross is serving as Honorary Chair.
More than one hundred unique and rare automobiles will compete for the Best of Show trophy and other awards on Sunday, April 17. Collectors are encouraged to submit entries at http://www.kiawahconcours.com. There is no application fee, but all entries are subject to a selection process.
“Kiawah Island provides a unique and beautiful location for a major automotive event,” said Bruce Stemerman, co-chair of the event. He added, “KIMR is destined to become one of the East Coast’s most exclusive Concours and we couldn’t be more thrilled”. Co-chair, John Wilson said, “This is a great opportunity for the collector car community to experience all that Kiawah Island has to offer”.
Also on tap: seminars led by respected experts, a motoring tour through South Carolina’s coastal Lowcountry, special dinners exposing attendees to famed Lowcountry cuisine and more.
Celebrated automotive artist Barry Rowe, artist of several Pebble Beach posters will create original artwork for the commemorative event poster.
KIMR is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization and net proceeds will benefit three Lowcountry charities: Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic, Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding program at Brickhouse Equestrian Center and the Kiawah Conservancy.
