TIJERAS, N.M., June 29, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In Taos, New Mexico, in 1969, an angry rancher falls for an alluring hippie. Find out if their love survives cultural turmoil and their varied beliefs in "Love and War in the Age of Aquarius" (published by Archway Publishing) by Amaia Joy and Geoffrey Carroll. Simultaneously in the heavy jungle of Vietnam about 40 miles northwest of Saigon, a private first class experiences the claustrophobic battles of the Vietnam War, the combat scars and psychological wounds.
"1969 was a pivotal year. [Our] generation will relive and the younger generations will discover what life was like in the year of Woodstock, first man on the moon, 250,000 Vietnam War protesters marching on Washington DC, and the invention of the internet," Joy and Carroll say. "Live this year through the eyes of three diverse souls living out differing perspectives."
Experience the escapades of an era — the Age of Aquarius — filled with social milieu, change, tragedy and triumphs. This multi-layered tale explodes with the haunting hazards of the Vietnam War, along with a richly compelling, provocative, and unlikely passion between a hippie and a rancher.
"The story gives you a tour and trajectory of the profoundly beautiful and diversified towns, villages, and cities of New Mexico, with accurate descriptions of its rich history, and its beloved Native People and Hispanic culture," the authors say. "Take comfort in the peaceful, sleepy village of Taos which vibrates with an aura of reverence, mystery, and spirituality, with a unique allure, found nowhere else in the world."
