Experienced Chief Nursing Officer to Lead Clinical Department at Voalte
Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) November 12, 2013 -- Voalte, the leader in clinical communication technology, today announced the hiring of Candace Smith, MPA, RN, NEA-BC, as the company’s new full-time Chief Nursing Officer. Smith joins Voalte from Medline Industries, the country’s largest privately held manufacturer and distributor of healthcare supplies, where she served as Senior Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer and Clinical Program Consultant.

Smith started her nursing career in Buffalo, New York, as a surgical ICU nurse in a Level 1 trauma center. From there, she held a variety of positions, including Nursing Director, Senior Director of Nursing, and Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer in Rochester, New York.

In her role as CNO, Smith will provide strategic guidance to the Clinical department at Voalte and collaborate with Voalte leadership on leveraging mobile technology to maximize the patient care experience.

Smith was the 2007 NYONE recipient of the Best Practice Leader Award for Falls Prevention. She also published a guidebook titled, “Chapter Leader’s Guide to Provision of Care: Practical Insight on Joint Commission Standards.” Currently, Smith is pursuing her PhD with a focus in Organizational Leadership at Northcentral University.
