Expert Panel and Book Signing on Innovations in Caregiving
BOSTON (PRWEB) June 11, 2018 -- The Aging2.0 Boston Chapter, supporting local innovators that are taking on the biggest challenges and opportunities in aging, is hosting a panel discussion and book signing on “Innovations in Caregiving” with Jody Gastfriend, VP of Senior Care Services at Care.com and Andrew Lowenstein, Chief Strategy Officer at Connected Living. Emily K. Shea, Commissioner, Boston Elderly Commission will make introductory remarks. The Commission serves as Boston’s Area Agency on Aging and Boston’s Council on Aging and sets the City’s direction for successful aging.

Jody Gastfriend is a licensed clinical social worker and author with more than 25 years of experience in the field of eldercare. A member of the “sandwich generation,” Jody Gastfriend helped manage the care of her father while raising three children. "For many families, a diagnosis of dementia can bring on a whirlwind of emotions: anger, denial, and profound sadness, both for the caregiver and the loved one with the disease," says Jody in her book My Parent's Keeper: The Guilt, Grief, Guesswork and Unexpected Gifts of Caregiving.
Andrew Lowenstein will join Jody as co-panelist. Andrew joined Connected Living, a company with the vision to transform the experience of aging for seniors and their families, in 2008. Previously, Andrew was VP of Business Development for Firefly Mobile, a venture-backed start-up that sells simplified, small cell phones and related services for kids.
