Recent study examines areas with the highest and lowest crime rates as people seek better living conditions during the pandemic.

Expertise.com a top resource that evaluates and publishes the best local experts has published a comprehensive report on the safest and most dangerous states, cities, and towns in the U.S.

The top five safest big cities are Gilbert, AZ, Plano, TX, Raleigh, NC, Virginia Beach, VA, and Madison, WI. Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Georgia are the safest states overall.

The lowest ranking big cities on the list, and therefore, the most dangerous, are Memphis, TN, Cleveland, OH, Detroit, MI, Wichita, KS, and Lubbock, TX. The most dangerous states overall are Louisiana, Illinois, and Delaware.

Researchers at Expertise.com accessed data from the FBI’s 2019 National Incident-Based Reporting System.
Each location was evaluated based on the number of violent crimes, other crimes against persons, and other crimes against property per 1,000 residents. The report highlights 1,434 cities and towns and the final scores were generated using a percentile rank formula.
