Texas foster care agencies that use extendedReach reduced both the quantity and severity of violations

extendedReach is the company to work with for solving the needs of data management in the Mental Health and Social Services field.

In July 2019 extendedReach completed a study that analyzed standard deficiencies over the past 36 months for foster care agencies in Texas. The study used audit data publicly available from the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) website. Texas DFPS defines a "deficiency" as any failure to comply with a rule, including a minimum standard, a statute, a specific term of a permit, or a condition of evaluation, probation, or suspension. A standard deficiency is also referred to as a violation.

The data was then divided and assigned into two groups:
1. Agencies that use extendedReach (approximately 40% of Texas agencies)
2. Agencies that do not use extendedReach

The study concluded the following:

Agencies that use extendedReach:

  • Reduce the total number of standard deficiencies by 77%
  • Reduce the total number of medium-high/high deficiencies by 81%

Agencies that do not use extendedReach:

  • Experience 3x more standard deficiencies than agencies that use extendedReach
  • Experience 5x more severe deficiencies than agencies that use extendedReach

“extendedReach is the company to work with for solving the needs of data management in the Mental Health and Social Services field," said Dan Johnson, Executive Director of Pathways Youth & Family Services in Kerrville, Texas. "We have it running in five programs today and live in a Pilot Project with the State of Texas.”
