Facebook and Social Media Adding to Growth in Cosmetic Plastic Surgery
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 08, 2013 -- According to recent information released by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Facebook, the largest social media network in the world, has helped contribute to a substantial growth in cosmetic plastic surgery across the United States. Hoping to improve the look of their profile photos, a greater number of users are reaching out to plastic surgeons.
The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery's (AAFPRS) annual poll of member surgeons has indicated that roughly 42% of Americans are obtaining advice and information regarding plastic surgery directly from Facebook and social networking sites rather than from friends. This is a substantial increase from 29% a few years ago.
