LAS VEGAS (PRWEB) January 04, 2018 -- FaceTec, Inc. and IAV Automotive Engineering announce a partnership and to demonstrate their integrated technologies at CES 2018 in Las Vegas. The demonstration showcases the advancements in personal, connected transportation that will be available to the public in the near-future. IAV - whose customers include Audi, BMW, Ford, GM, Honda, Porsche and VW - chose FaceTec’s 3D face login software, ZoOm®, to be the method of secure biometric vehicle access and the basis for comprehensive smart vehicle personalization for their “James” connected car project.
Our vehicles are getting smarter, faster. Self-driving cars and trucks will soon be common sights on our roads. But to get there, several key problems have to be solved. In addition to a vehicle’s basic mission to operate day-to-day without mishap, there is the critical question of authorized access. Unauthorized access and operation of a vehicle must be prevented to protect the owner of the vehicle, the passengers and the other drivers who share the road.
“We’re very excited to partner on this advanced transportation engineering project with IAV. As vehicles increasingly rely on digital access operation management it is imperative that only authorized individuals gain access and control of the vehicle,” said Kevin Alan Tussy, CEO of FaceTec. “AI-driven, ZoOm’s ease of use and unmatched levels of biometric security make it a perfect match for this critical implementation. ZoOm’s 3D face recognition algorithms verify that only the authorized user has access to the vehicle, and the 3D depth and liveness detection proves that individual is present in person - not a photo or video spoof.”
FaceTec is at the forefront of the revolution in mobile 3D face authentication driven by Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Delivered to app developers in an iOS or Android SDK, ZoOm can be integrated within just a few hours, providing a highly-secure biometric login for apps providing access to transportation, banking, insurance, healthcare and other confidential personal account data, all without compromising convenience for daily use.
“It is extremely important to us to provide a complete solution that addresses the real world issues we will all encounter as our transportation soon becomes more intelligent and efficient. We feel secure access, which has been an afterthought in the past, must be addressed as an integral part of any connected vehicle solution,” added Danny Thiel, Project Manager at IAV. He continued, “ZoOm provides a uniquely capable, very secure method of access that will dramatically reduce vehicle access and operation compromises. In addition to being ultra-secure and fast, its selfie-style login will make it very easy for nearly anyone to use daily, one of the most important and most practical aspects of any security measure. Truly secure access opens the door to a personalized, richer and much more comfortable overall driving experience that includes driver settings, seamless upgrades and intelligent repair.”
The CES 2018 exhibition takes place on January 9th-12th in Las Vegas, with press days on the 7th and 8th. IAV and partnering companies will be on-site at booth NP-13 and NP-13b at the Las Vegas Convention Center North Plaza.
