Indiana fiberglass pool manufacturer, Thursday Pools, announced the launch of the planned 40,000 square foot expansion of their manufacturing facility. The expansion will bring the total space of their facility to 100,000 square feet, increasing production, storage and employment capacities.

"We're excited and we're ready," said Bill Khamis, Thursday Pools CFO. "We just added onto our facility two years ago, but we're still growing. This is the next step. We've made a commitment to continual improvement through our ISO 9001 certification and this expansion is going to improve so many aspects of our business-- production capacity to start, but it will also allow us to have better quality control, as we'll have a dedicated space to inspect and store the pools. And of course, the expansion means more jobs in Hancock County. We're glad to be able to bring more employees on board."

The expansion will result in:

  •      More than doubled total facility space
  •      Doubled loading area for fiberglass pools
  •      A dedicated manufacturing area for two Thursday Pools innovations: The Fiberglass Pool Anchoring System (FPA) and the Backfill Eliminator
  •      Twelve acres of asphalt and stone dedicated fiberglass pool storage area

"It's not just about capacity," Khamis continued. "We're always striving to make Thursday Pools the best possible place for our employees to work and employee safety is paramount to us. Loading a fiberglass pool shell onto a tractor trailer is no small feat. Having a dedicated space to load the pools means a much safer workplace. Our employees are family to us and we want to provide the safest environment for them we can."

"The expansion will also look good," said Ed Vondell, Thursday Pools CEO. "We've got a great looking building with a beautiful brick facade. As we add on, we want to ensure that the integrity of architecture remains intact. We're a part of a wonderful community here in Fortville and we want to continue to be good neighbors."

"Lastly, to make it easier to show people our pools, we're putting in half of a mile of asphalt road so that we'll be able to drive folks on golf carts to see the pools in the storage area," Vondell concluded. "With all of our different pool designs and now our new beach entry fiberglass pools, there's a lot to take in. It will be fun to be able to drive both dealers and their customers who want to see the pools around to look at them up close and in person!"
