Family Businesses Partner Together to Release Mountain Colors Yarn of the Month Club
Spokane, WA (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- This month is the first release of the new yarn club from Paradise Fibers featuring Mountain Colors Yarn. "We chose Mountain Colors because of the high quality custom yarn they produce and also because they are local here in the Northwest," says Travis Romine, owner of Paradise. "They really take pride in creating rich colors that are exciting but wearable." Many of their colors are nature themed from the Inland Northwest area like Poppy Trail, Moose Creek and Yellowstone.
Leslie Taylor and Diana McKay started Mountain Colors in 1992 as a couple of stay at home Mom’s dyeing yarn in their kitchen to sell at festivals. Being in a small town, the job market was stale and they each had small children as well so hand dyeing was a great fit. Many of their children have grown up helping around the dye shop through high school and college.
"Our yarns are known for their rich vibrant colors. We get inspiration from the mountain, meadows, and farmlands in our area…our colors are inspired by the Rocky Mountain West!" says Leslie, one of the original partners at Mountain Colors.
The Paradise Fibers Mountain Colors Yarn Club was released with a limited amount of memberships available as all the yarn is custom dyed wool yarn in small batches. Members get a new knitting project each month for 24.99 with fresh new custom colors often exclusive to club members which have been a hit with customers.
Mountain Colors has been hand dyeing custom yarn for over 21 years with 10 employees at their dye shop in Corvallis, Montana. The girls at Mountain Colors all have rich gardens and are big on locally grown fresh food which is part of their culture. They have a Potluck Knit Night every month for their employees featuring home cooked from scratch meals with local eggs, beef and produce while they knit.
Paradise Fibers has been in business since 1997 selling yarn ,spinning wheels and weaving supplies. The company is family owned and operated and consists of a variety of Romine family members young and old with a sprinkle of dedicated fiber junkies and stunt men.
