Retailer with 60+ Locations Migrates onto Magento Enterprise Cloud

We’ve been looking for the perfect fit to take our business to a platform that connects our customers to our brand no matter where they shop. Now we'll be able to do that.

Family Farm & Home is a Michigan-based, family-owned and operated company geared toward fulfilling the lifestyle needs of rural and suburban customers. Core departments include feed and accessories for pets, horses and livestock, as well as farming supplies. The chain also offers supplies for lawn and garden, hardware, automotive, work clothing, footwear, home heating and more.

Currently operating 60+ stores throughout five mid-western states, Family Farm & Home has experienced significant growth since opening its first three locations in 2002. A focus on local community and customer service are a top priority for Family Farm & Home. The retailer’s mission is to treat customers like family and to help them work smarter and faster by providing the best quality products and expert advice to get the job done, at prices that make sense.

This month, Family Farm & Home signed on with CQL Corporation based out of Grand Rapids, MI to re-platform their e-commerce technology, helping them extend their digital/omni-channel footprint to meet their customers when and wherever they shop.

With CQL’s skill and knowledge in the e-commerce space, and Magento Enterprise Cloud as the largest mid-market e-commerce platform in the world, Family Farm & Home will have the ability to better serve their customers, allowing for further digital exposure and robust customer engagement. This platform technology will allow customers to browse and buy 24/7 as well as locate inventory before they shop in store.

“We're very excited to partner with CQL on this endeavor. We’ve been looking for the perfect fit to take our business to a platform that connects our customers to our brand no matter where they shop. Now we'll be able to do that,” said Jaime Shafer, e-Commerce Content Specialist at Family Farm & Home.

The migration to Magento Enterprise Cloud not only connects the company’s user base to the Family Farm & Home products, but also allows the ability for customers to purchase items directly from the website with in-store pick up or direct to home shipping.

“We’re designing the user experience in three phases, and each phase will ensure the migration is completed smoothly and in accordance with Family Farm & Home’s needs and expectations. The return on investment for this migration will pay for itself, and in the long run, the new site will open doors for them,” said Scott Robertson, Managing Director Commerce Strategy and Innovation at CQL.

The migration is planned for completion in Q4 of 2019, and customers will be able to enjoy the ease of the search, shop and purchasing experience with Family Farm & Home. “We’re looking forward to celebrating the launch with CQL and their team. The new partnership with CQL will allow us to further support the lifestyle needs of our customers, both online and in store,” said Shafer.
