TEMPE, Ariz., Dec. 19, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Quilted announced today that it has launched its video storytelling service to help loved ones easily save, share and preserve life's most cherished memories in a 5 minute setup.
Quilted's mission is to create an entirely new experience around personal storytelling that brings loved ones closer together by sharing these stories with one another today, versus waiting for important life events like weddings, funerals or birthdays to share them.
The web-based application features carefully curated questions for each package, designed to make the most unlikely storytellers share their best stories and to document a variety of memories. Questions are automatically sent to storytellers daily or weekly through text messages where Storytellers respond with their stories in 2 clicks without having to download an app. Storytelling projects can be built using Quilted's library of questions, or can be fully customized by the purchaser.
In early 2019, the Quilted team discovered a growing need for being able to easily save life's most important stories and memories not only for existing family members to discover, but for future generations as well. "There is a growing trend around discovering more about our ancestry and genealogy, to better understand where we come from. At the same time, and this is something each of us on the team has personally been challenged with, there is no easy way to document and save the stories of our loved ones to revisit time and time again," says Quilted co-founder Bret Giles.
Quilted's 2019 holiday gift packages include a Legacy video story package, where parents and grandparents can easily answer questions through video interview-style responses. Once stories are complete, users have the option to download a full-length video memoir. Quilted also features storytelling packages for siblings to record their favorite memories to share with their parents, for friends to recognize a loved one in honor of a milestone birthday, retirement party or other special events, or for couples and spouses to create their "story of us."
"Today, we're missing depth in storytelling where we abbreviate stories that define our life to 120 characters to share with hundreds of people. Even worse, we feel lost when the great stories we do have from loved ones are no longer a phone call away," says Quilted co-founder Lacey Brown. "Technically, we could do all of this ourselves - interview our loved ones and stitch the videos together to share with family and friends. But the truth is, we don't. We don't proactively take the time to hear from our loved ones and save the stories that mean so much to us. What we end up with is random saved voicemails, photos on the cloud and videos here and there to try to look back on and remember a person we loved or revisit a special moment in our lives. To us, this is a solvable tragedy. Memories and stories are what bring us together and there should be an easier way."
Quilted plans to launch additional storytelling packages in early 2020, including a video guest book for weddings, video wishes for a new baby, and a travel video journal.
