BOSTON (PRWEB) October 16, 2018
FamilyID (FID) and Mass Heartbeat (MHB) are pleased to announce that they have entered into a partnership that enables high schools throughout New England to offer a single, secure and convenient online platform to register students for both school athletics and on site heart screenings. Families can enter and update critical registration and student health information in one place, and easily access detailed history of data updates and registrations through their FamilyID account.
Mass Heartbeat provides affordable and convenient ECG heart screenings on site at high schools. These simple, noninvasive screenings can detect many underlying heart conditions. The tests are interpreted by experienced cardiologists and the results, as well as recommended next steps, are communicated to parents shortly after the screening date. Although the incidence of cardiac problems in children and adolescents is low, and sudden cardiac death among this group is rare, up to 25 percent of deaths occur in athletes. The numbers are higher for teens with underlying congenital heart disease. Screening teen athletes for underlying problems can save lives.
FamilyID’s online platform simplifies registration for schools, camps, clubs, and other programs. Families input their information once and can reuse it for multiple programs. Data is tailored to meet the needs of each school or program. School athletic programs already ask many of the questions Mass Heartbeat uses to recommend screening. Having this data available in one place enables parents to easily answer the questions and keep their information up to date.
Operating in similar markets, FamilyID and Mass Heartbeat have entered into this partnership to provide an invaluable service to the community: making heart screenings and online registration the standard among high schools, potentially saving the lives of student athletes and making the process of entering and maintaining family information smooth and painless.
Shane Lavoie, Co-Founder and CFO of Mass Heartbeat comments: “Mass Heartbeat uses the online registration services of FamilyID, so we’ve seen first-hand how beneficial they are to the efficiency of a school-wide program. We’re pleased that this partnership will give Mass Heartbeat the opportunity to present our program to schools in Massachusetts that are already within the footprint of FamilyID. In addition, we’re excited to introduce the schools we work with to the benefits of using the registration services provided by FamilyID.”
"Our partnership with Mass Heartbeat exemplifies a common mission to deliver solutions that make life easier for families and school administrators," says Rochelle Nemrow, FamilyID Founder and CEO. "Not only does Mass Heartbeat offer a tremendous service that schools know and trust, but we share the same focus on providing uncompromising customer support. This partnership enables a truly superior solution that will create real efficiencies for our school districts. School staff, teachers, coaches, and nurses can all have reliable student data in real time, which is critical."
