Vino Novo uses a high-frequency focused electric field that triggers an electrochemical reaction inside a bottle of wine. This reaction causes some of the chemical compounds inside the wine to break down, which enhances or "ages" a bottle of wine. Vino Novo can be used with any bottle of red wine but users will notice a much greater change in less expensive red wine varietals.
"I come from a family of old school Italians that like to make their own wine. It's in my blood and has always been an interest of mine," said Clyde Snodgrass, CEO of Faraday Inc. "A few years ago, I was reading a paper that a physics professor wrote in 2008 about how an AC electric field affects wine maturation and that piqued my interest. I knew that I wanted to create something that the average consumer could use to enhance their wine."
Over the years, Snodgrass and his team worked hard to develop an innovative solution that would produce a difference in the flavor profile users could actually taste. Vino Novo's timer and power levels allow the entire process to be controlled from start to finish. To use Vino Novo, simply place a bottle inside the unit and select the desired power level in order to achieve the preferred flavor profile – in under 10 minutes, the wine will be ready to enjoy. Vino Novo supports 110v as well as 220v power options, which is achievable by simply swapping the plug-and-play power cords.
Vino Novo is compatible with everyone's favorite voice-controlled devices like Amazon Alexa. It is voice-activated and can adapt to each individual's feedback. Additionally, Alexa can save "favorite" wines for future tastings.
Vino Novo is easily controlled with a simple touch. The sleek wine accessory uses the same technology found in most touchscreen mobile phones: select settings, change times, etc. with high speed, responsive touch. If preferred, Vino Novo can also be controlled via smartphone. The easy-to-use companion app allows control over the machine, offers recommended cycle settings for the bottle of wine, scans barcodes to see how well the bottle would age, and provides demonstration videos.
When Vino Novo is not in use, its LED lights offer peaceful, ambient lighting. A smartphone can be connected through the home lighting app through Phillips Hue integration for a completely interactive experience too.
