Farrin Attorney Gabe Talton Appointed to GoTriangle Transit Advisory Committee
DURHAM, NC (PRWEB) May 03, 2018 -- James Scott Farrin Personal Injury Attorney, Gabe Talton, was recently appointed to the GoTriangle Transit Advisory Committee. He will serve a two-year term.
An initiative of particular importance to Talton is the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route which is earmarked to be established between downtown Cary, NC State University, and downtown Raleigh within the next five years.
As a fourth generation Cary, NC, native, Talton said he looks forward to improving and serving Cary and surrounding areas, particularly with regard to developing a downtown Cary transit hub – a Wake County-approved initiative.
“I enjoy opportunities to serve downtown Cary where four generations of my family have lived,” Talton said. “This transit hub, which falls under the Wake Transit Plan, will be a quantum leap forward for downtown Cary’s economic development.”
Talton has a keen interest in and passion for endeavoring to help minimize the environmental footprint in Cary and beyond. And he believes that the reduction of fossil fuel use and the economic development benefits, which the planned downtown Cary Multimodal Transportation Hub will bring, will help to reduce that footprint.
Awards and Community Organizations Served
Talton is involved in a number of community and advocacy endeavors – some for which he has been recognized and received awards. He received the "North Carolina Lawyers Weekly" Emerging Legal Leader award in 2011, the North Carolina Advocates for Justice Order of Service in 2010, 2014, and 2017. Additionally he is serving a three-year term on the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ) Board of Governors, and serving as Communications Chair of the Auto Torts section for the NCAJ.
Talton is also a member of the North Carolina Commission on Racial and Ethnic Disparities in the Criminal Justice System, and a Sierra Club member.
