FCCI Insurance Group Sponsors Second Habitat for Humanity Sarasota Home
Sarasota, Florida (PRWEB) September 10, 2015 -- Sarasota-based FCCI Insurance Group (FCCI) is sponsoring a Habitat for Humanity Sarasota home, which will be located at 5225 Ventura Avenue in Sarasota. The groundbreaking ceremony will take place on Tuesday, September 15, at 9:30 a.m. at the site of the future home.
This is the second home FCCI has sponsored in Sarasota. The first was completed in June 2015.
“We look for ways to contribute and add value to our local communities. Partnering with Habitat for Humanity on building homes for families in need is a great way for our company to give back and for our teammates to get involved,” says Craig Johnson, FCCI President & CEO.
FCCI is an active sponsor on site. In addition to the financial contribution, FCCI pledges at least 200 volunteer hours to the new project. FCCI provides teammates with four hours of company-paid time each year to use for volunteer efforts. Giving back is an important part of the culture at FCCI, and teammates have demonstrated their generosity through projects like these. For the first Habitat for Humanity Sarasota home, teammates exceeded the 200-hour pledge by volunteering 423 hours to the project and more than 500 hours to Habitat for Humanity Sarasota in total. Many of those hours were individuals’ personal time in addition to the four hours of company-paid volunteer time.
“I could not be more pleased with the generosity and team spirit of FCCI teammates,” says Johnson.
FCCI is donating funds for the home through the Community Contribution Tax Credit Program (CCTCP). Each homeowner has a unique story, and FCCI is excited to partner with Habitat for Humanity Sarasota on another effort to provide affordable housing for a family in need.
