SEATTLE, Sept. 30, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Combined Federal Campaign of Cascadia launches its 2019 campaign today, inviting all federal employees and retirees to give to thousands of participating charities. The CFC is the official workplace giving campaign for military, federal civilian, postal employees as well as federal and military retirees.
Cascadia CFC is the local campaign covering the State of Washington and North Idaho region serving more than 124,000 federal employees as well as 220,000 federal/military retirees. Cascadia CFC is one of 36 CFC zones throughout the country and overseas raising millions of dollars each year. In 2018, Cascadia CFC donors gave an average gift of $775 and pledged more than 2,800 volunteer hours to charities.
"I am thrilled to chair the 2019 Combined Federal Campaign for the Cascadia region. Last year our federal colleagues in Cascadia raised over $1.8 million for participating charities," said Bill McCool, appointed District Court Executive/Clerk of Court for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington State. He previously chaired the local CFC campaign in 2013 and has supported the campaign through various volunteer positions and as a donor.
"Federal employees from all branches of government and our armed forces contribute enormously to our nation through their service and dedication to their duties. They 'Show Some Love' every day with their commitment to public service," McCool continued. "This campaign is a great opportunity to further that commitment, and I trust each and every one of us will consider contributing to the cause that inspires us through payroll deduction, direct contributions, or volunteering our time."
In a final remark, McCool added, "Thanks to all my federal colleagues and now let's 'Show Some Love'."
Cascadia CFC will celebrate with a charity fair kickoff on Oct. 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the 4th floor auditorium of the Jackson Federal Building (915 2nd Ave) in downtown Seattle where dozens of charities will be represented to meet with prospective donors. All federal employees and retirees are invited to attend and collect CFC and charity information to help make their donation decisions.
The last day to pledge is Jan. 12, 2020. We invite federal employees and retirees in the State of Washington and North Idaho to pledge or learn more about the campaign at [https://www.cascadiacfc.org.
