FEDERAL WAY, Wash., Oct. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- This November 3rd will mark the inaugural launch of the first annual Rally to Vote Event in Federal Way, Wash. Designed to create an atmosphere of fun and dynamic community interaction, Rally to Vote is a family-friendly, non-partisan gathering designed to uniquely engage City of Federal Way residents and others in the surrounding South King County area.
Co-sponsored by Federal Way City Council members Martin Moore (R) and Jesse Johnson (D), Rally to Vote will be produced by entertainment firm Brave New World (BNW) and will be held this year at the Commons at Federal Way Mall from 2pm to 6pm.
"The Rally to Vote event is a bipartisan, engagement and awareness event designed to educate the public on the importance of voting through community, media, entertainment and fellowship," says Councilmember Johnson. "is transformational for our community because it is bringing all people together toward a common goal that will help all our residents feel engaged and get educated on the issues that affect our community. It will also help us achieve our goal of having the highest voter turnout in the region."
"My goal, as a moderate Republican, is to work toward stronger communities with anyone who's willing to do the same," adds Councilmember Moore. "I'm proud to have worked with my colleague Councilmember Johnson and BNW for an event that rallies our community members around the idea that everyone should exercise their rights and vote. Republicans, Democrats, Independents; everyone – this is a time for us to unite and celebrate our democracy and the voice it gives us through action."
Free and open to all, attendees will enjoy complimentary food and beverage presented by Poverty Bay Cafe and live music by International Recording Artist, founder of BNW, and Federal Way native, Shyan Selah. Selah has made it a mission to collaborate with key members of the Federal Way community in creating dynamic events designed to inspire and engage the residents of his hometown.
"I'm excited. I love Federal Way, and I will always do whatever I can to uplift the community," says Selah. "City Councilmembers Moore and Johnson gained my support immediately by daring to think out of the box. I'm a creative person by nature and profession so just hearing about it made me feel like it was an important thing to do. It's always good when a Democrat and a Republican can come together and want to do something for the people in the city that they serve and celebrating our rights and privileges as citizens is what it's all about. I see this as an opportunity for us all to come together regardless of race, gender, religion or political stance and have a chance to breathe and appreciate that ultimately we're all in this together as Americans. I can't wait to perform and celebrate our freedom at The Rally to Vote event."
