FEI to Attend WEM Governor’s Conference and DRJ Spring World
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (PRWEB) March 12, 2019 -- FEI Behavioral Health, a social enterprise with 40 years of history and a leader in workforce resilience from EAP and organizational development to workplace violence prevention and crisis management, will be at two upcoming conferences: The Wisconsin Emergency Management 2019 Governor's Conference on Emergency Management & Homeland Security and Disaster Recovery Journal Spring World 2019 Conference.
The Governor’s Conference runs March 21-22, 2019 at Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in Wisconsin Dells, Wis. FEI Business Manager Michael Bugenhagen will represent FEI on the exhibition floor on Thursday, March 21, from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. CST. Attendees are encouraged to stop by, meet Bugenhagen and discuss FEI’s array of services and training opportunities.
With a theme of managing risk in an uncertain world, Disaster Recovery Journal Spring World runs March 24-27, 2019 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Fla. FEI Senior Director Terri Howard will present “Civil Unrest and Employees: When Community Concerns Become Workplace Challenges” on March 25, 2019, at 2:45 p.m. EST.
The session will discuss how the internet has become a tool for both public discourse and mobilization on topics such as racial, gender and income inequality, discrimination, opiate abuse, health care and more. This interconnectivity presents unique challenges for business continuity professionals who are learning to handle both workplace crises and those crises outside the workplace that can have equally dramatic effects on employees.
Howard will guide participants through examples of civil unrest in the workplace, the implications of community turmoil on business continuity and how business continuity professionals can work to disarm conflict while maintaining the safety of employees and their dependents.
Howard is responsible for working with FEI corporate clients to ensure they are prepared for, can respond to and recover from a crisis incident. She also coordinates the people support and psychological first aid services for those impacted by crises and is responsible for developing drills and exercises aimed at testing current plans and procedures. Over the years, Howard has contributed to several international standards and guidelines on crisis management and workplace violence prevention including ASIS, a global community of more than 38,000 security practitioners, and the FBI.
