LONDON, Aug. 28, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The world of blockchain, and even more so blockchain worlds, has always been shrouded in a mystery of complexity presumed to be used only by those up-to-date on the cryptocurrency buzz. However, its market still seems to be booming, with the legendary Second Life, a virtual world where people could own their own land a decade ago, still turning over massive revenue, and there's Decentraland on the Ethereum blockchain, where users can own pieces of land verified by blockchain technology and build on them, profiting the company hundreds of million. The idea is certainly novel, but is it retaining enough interest?
There seems to be a new kid on the block (chain) who are aiming to keep users interested. VuclanVerse is a 2km by 2km virtual world that aims to find the balance between true ownership of land and gameplay. The CEO says:
.
"Vulcan verse is a virtual world opening in quarter four of this year. We want to balance out the gaming styles of Skyrim and World of Warcraft by allowing top tier graphics, interactivity and gaming with the selling point of being able to own your own land food blockchain."
In a push to attract a more mainstream audience from both the gaming and fantasy worlds, they have recruited some of the top fantasy authors of yesteryears. Award winning authors Dave Morris and Jamie Thomson are widely known amongst the fantasy community, both penning over 100 books together including titles from the fighting fantasy series, award winning Way of the Tiger, Fabled Lands and more recently the Roald Dahl comedy prize winner - "Dirk Lloyd."
They are not only creating lore for the land, history and characters but are now writing a trilogy of novels, with the working title "The Vulcan Verses." Author Jamie Thomson said:
"The world itself is based on the premise that the God Vulcan was tired of mankind embracing virtual world ands pushing Gods out of their lives, so instead of fading into the sunset, he embraces it by creating these four quadrants of land. The books will be a prequel to the virtual game documenting the journey from technology and atheism taking over towards these gods either choosing to fade into memory or take things into their own hands."
VulcanVerse has an impressive lineup of teams, including award-winning 3-D game and modeling companies Spark Labs, Serv Reality, Savage Labs and Horos Interactive. They have settled on moving the world to the VeChainThor blockchain for the reasons their CEO says:
"Vechain, from all our blockchain possibilities, offers the fastest and cheapest transaction fees, but most importantly, it allows users to not get involved with cryptocurrency or gas fees, and level up the land or buy assets with usual currency, while all the blockchain ownership and interactions are done our end."
Vulcan verse will be a standalone app, including seven levels of building materials available to users upon four different themes of land. It is is pegged for release in quarter four of 2020.
