FinancialJobsWeb.com Sees 2.7% Increase In Job Postings in June 2015
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 31, 2015 -- FinancialJobsWeb.com, the leading employment website for financial careers, reports an increase of 2.7% in the number of financial job postings to its site for the month of June 2015 compared to the previous month.
June’s increase in the number of job postings is slightly below the 4.7% increase reported for May 2015.
The employment website’s increase in job postings for the month of June aligns with the 0.25% increase in the number of financial jobs reported by the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics on Thursday, July 2, 2015.
The Economic Situation report revealed an increase of 20,000 jobs within the financial activities supersector for the month of June, with 14,700 jobs occurring in the finance and insurance sector and 4,800 jobs occurring within the real estate, rental and leasing sector. The supersector now sits at 8,127,000 jobs with an unemployment rate of 2.5%, a decrease over the 4.4% reported in June 2014. Over the past 12 months, the supersector has added 159,000 jobs, with about half of the reported job gains occurring in the insurance carriers and related activities subsector.
Within the finance and insurance sector, insurance carriers and related activities added 8,700 jobs, an increase of 0.34% over May 2015. The securities, commodity contracts, investments, and funds and trusts sector added the second largest number of jobs, with 7,400 jobs gained for the month of June. The credit intermediation and related activities sector lost 1,400 jobs, a decrease of 0.05% over the previous month.
Within real estate, rental and leasing, the rental and leasing services subsector gained 2,800 jobs, while real estate gained 1,700 jobs. Lessors of nonfinancial intangible assets only increased by 300 jobs.
Across all industries, total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 223,000 jobs in June, while the unemployment rate declined by 0.2 percentage points to 5.3 percent. Over the last 12 months, employment growth has averaged 250,000 jobs per month. Job gains occurred within professional and business services (64,000 jobs), health care (40,000), retail trade (33,000), financial activities (20,000), and within transportation and warehousing (17,000).
