The Fire Rover has been named a finalist in the Industrial Safety Subcategory for the 2019 Edison Awards. The Edison Awards, named after Thomas Alva Edison, recognizes and honors the world’s best in innovators and innovations. The Edison Awards will announce gold, silver and bronze award winners at the Edison Awards Gala held Thursday, April 4, 2019 in New York City.
The Fire Rover is the only comprehensive firefighting solution on the market today that combats incipient fires and explosions within seconds from ignition. The Fire Rover solution combines: 1) Automated Thermal Detection; 2) Remote Human Verification, and; 3) Remotely Operated On-Site Suppressant/Elimination, essentially allowing fires/hotspots to be cooled and eliminated before they can escalate to a major fire incident.
Developed by Brad Gladstone, Jeremy Dusing and Pete Marry, the Fire Rover was originally designed to proactively protect metal recycling facilities and has been successfully installed and on guard in some of the largest waste, recycling and hazard material facilities in the United States. Waste and Recycling Facilities have been facing an increasing number of fire incidents over the past few years due in large part to improperly disposed lithium-ion batteries in our waste and recycling stream.
