FireIsland.com Introduces Color-Coded, Post-COVID-19 Guide to Business, Recreation as Fire Island, NY Reopens
FireIsland.com introduces quick-reference guide to life and leisure as Fire Island rebounds after months of coronavirus restrictions. Color-Coded, Post-COVID-19 Guide to Business and Recreation helps Fire Island visitors and enthusiasts plan future visits to the Island from a COVID-informed perspective
FIRE ISLAND, N.Y., July 8, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- FireIsland.com, the definitive resource for information about recreation, dining, entertainment and lodging on Fire Island, NY, has introduced a color-coded business directory to provide visitors and residents with a real-time, "at-a-glance" guide to what's open for business as statewide COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
The directory uses green, yellow and red bars to provide users with a quick, easy-to-use guide to businesses and services that are open on the island. A business displaying a green bar is fully open with no restrictions. A business with a yellow bar is open with some restrictions (such as a restaurant offering limited seating), while a business displaying a red bar remains closed.
On July 8, Long Island entered Phase 4 of the state's four-stage coronavirus reopening plan. However, there are still certain restrictions in place, including a limit of 50 people for social gatherings and capacity limitations on indoor and outdoor arts and recreation.
"The opening of Long Island is obviously a major step forward for Fire Island as well," said Tom Delamater of FireIsland.com. "It's not yet business as usual in the post-COVID world, but excitement and anticipation are building as the region gradually emerges from the effects of the pandemic."
"Our purpose with the color guide is to allow businesses to report how they are implementing the guidelines as they've been announced by the governor's office. Fire Island visitors and enthusiasts will be able to plan their future visits to the Island from a COVID-informed perspective."
Businesses appearing on the site maintain their own directory listings to ensure that the most recent, accurate information is available. All Fire Island-associated businesses are invited to register on the site and create a free directory listing by going to http://www.fireisland.com/business-directory and clicking the "Create A Listing" button.

Phase designations for different regions of New York remain subject to change in light of a recent spike in cases nationwide. See https://forward.ny.gov/ for updated details of state guidelines.
