Three established courses will form the foundation of self-paced online training featuring Lucy simulations
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Fireside Project today announced that Beckley Academy is donating three psychedelic therapy practitioner training courses to Fireside Project and two other nonprofits. Fireside will adapt the content into a self-paced online course for practitioners, with experiential modules from Lucy, its voice-based simulation platform. The course is targeted for release in 2027.
Fireside Project, Psychedelic Education Partnership, and the Beckley Foundation will share ownership of the donated content. Each organization will be able to adapt it for its own educational work. For Fireside, the gift provides a foundation for a new course that will bring its practitioner training to a wider group of learners.
The planned course will draw on Beckley Academy's emphasis on relational, ethical, and culturally responsive care. Embedded Lucy modules will give learners opportunities to practice conversations with simulated clients. Fireside intends the simulations to complement supervised practice with people.
"Beckley Academy put real care into building these courses, and this gift gives Fireside a strong foundation for the next phase of our practitioner training," said Joshua White, founder and executive director of Fireside Project. "Through the Psychedelic Support Line, we've seen how much skill and compassion matter when someone is vulnerable. We want to help more practitioners prepare for those moments."
Fireside trains the volunteers who answer its free Psychedelic Support Line and developed Lucy to help practitioners rehearse challenging interactions. The new course will bring Beckley Academy's educational content into that training work as a public-facing offering.
"Beckley Academy's courses were built around a simple idea: good psychedelic care depends on the relationship between practitioner and client," said Rock Feilding-Mellen, Beckley Academy Co-founder. "We're glad this donation will help Fireside Project carry that teaching forward. Pairing the curriculum with Lucy will give practitioners a chance to practice those skills, not just study them."
Fireside Project will share more information about the course, including its curriculum and enrollment, as development progresses.
