First Centennial Mortgage and Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity have partnered to build the first-ever Habitat home in Batavia, IL. First Centennial Mortgage donated $175,000 to fund the building which will house a family from Kenya.
AURORA, Ill., Nov. 17, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- First Centennial Mortgage and Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity have partnered to build the first-ever Habitat home in Batavia, IL. First Centennial Mortgage donated $175,000 to fund the building which will house a family from Kenya.
"We value the work Habitat does in the community by providing housing for people in need. Partnering with them is a natural extension for us since we work to help people obtain housing every day," said Steven McCormick, president, First Centennial Mortgage.
The public is invited to the home's dedication service on Saturday, November 20, at 11:00am at the site of the new home for the Owino family at 10 Independence Drive, Batavia, IL.
Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity will host the ceremony along with Steven and David McCormick of First Centennial Mortgage, Jeffery Schielke, Mayor of Batavia, Illinois State Representative, Maura Hirschauer, Batavia Chamber President & CEO Margaret Perreault, Cynthia Cannella from Orange Home Services, Lisa Farley of Accurate Door and other community partners will attend and offer brief remarks. Refreshments will be serviced during the event.
First Centennial Mortgage started this project in 2020 when it celebrated its 25th anniversary of being in business. Said McCormick, "We wanted to do something special to thank our communities for supporting us all these years. We were thrilled when Habitat offered us this opportunity." Steven McCormick currently serves as the Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity Board Chairman.
