First Ever LEAP Leadership Event with Northern Ireland's Women's Group TWN Launches to Elevate Women in the Workplace.
Exploring Common Ground, Maximizing Your Personal Power, and Networking Will Be Three Pillars of the Transatlantic Event for Female Professionals.
NEW YORK, March 21, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The LEAP leadership program in New York in partnership with Training Women's Network (TWN) Northern Ireland came together for an immersive evening designed to empower women and foster growth in business and civic organizations on March 19th 2019.
While vast numbers of women move business forward every day – astonishingly few hold top leadership positions. The women may live in New York City and Northern Ireland, yet they have similar leadership and career ambitions and often find themselves in environments that do not support their goals.
The transatlantic event was an unparalleled experience and offered strategies and discussion to inspire women to maximize their voices and personal power to build vibrant careers. A highlight was Mary McEvoy, LEAP Co-founder who led an interactive session about eliminating verbal and nonverbal "power robbers" that hold women back.
"The collaboration between LEAP and TWN strikes a note with the core values of our respective missions - women supporting other women," said Courtney Sunna, LEAP Co-Director. "The partnership adds a greater dimension to current conversations about moving women forward and perfectly fits the agenda LEAP seeks to pursue," states Maura Kelly, LEAP Co-Director.
"Meeting the women from LEAP resonated with the TWN group – many of who live or have lived in areas where there has been high levels of paramilitary activity," says Patricia Lewsley Mooney, CBE, Chairperson TWN. "Today these women are confident in having their voices heard and their opinions taken seriously, across a spectrum of social and political issues."
The joint event took place to coincide with St Patrick's Day celebrations and Women's History Month and will be held at the Bank of Ireland's Innovation Lab in Manhattan, NYC.
LEAP (Leadership & Executive Acceleration Program) helps professional Irish and Irish-American women in the Greater New York area gain more leadership opportunities - to use their voices in important discussions and take a seat at the table.
