Following the publication of a peer-reviewed clinical study which found that his AMI Meditation syllabus can significantly reduce burnout and stress while increasing compassion, Leonard Perlmutter, founder of The American Meditation Institute, will teach a new six-session semester of his ground-breaking Foundation Course December 6, 2022 through January 10, 2023 from 6:30 to 8:30pm ET on Zoom. This online presentation of his proprietary curriculum is open to the general public, and has been certified by the American Medical Association to provide attending medical physicians 18 CME (Continuing Medical Education) credit hours.

Taught continuously since 1996, this clinically-tested curriculum was developed to meet today’s most pressing challenges. It incorporates Holistic Mind/Body Medicine principles, a complete procedure for seated AMI Meditation®, meditation-in-action practices for creating and healing relationships, easy-gentle physical exercises, breath as medicine, an understanding of Ayurvedic medicine, the practical power of prayer, and supportive elements of Yoga Science, Philosophy, and Psychology. Each weekly session combines the best of ancient Eastern wisdom with the practicality of modern Western medical science.

Mr. Perlmutter’s books, YOUR CONSCIENCE, and The Heart and Science of Yoga® have been endorsed by medical pioneers Dean Ornish MD, Bernie Siegel MD and Larry Dossey MD. Leonard has taught at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Kaiser Permanente, numerous medical schools, “The New York Times” forum on Yoga, and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point Association of Graduates. According to Perlmutter, “By employing the 36 tools received by attending the Foundation Course, even new students can easily develop greater clarity of vision, increased creativity and a self-confidence.”

According to course graduate and Palliative Medicine physician, Faith Holmes, “A masterfully designed course! I came away with actionable knowledge and practice to begin my own spiritual journey.”
