Consigned from New Autos Inc. in Chico, Calif., the famous 2017 Ford GT, previously owned by American professional wrestler and actor John Cena, is expected to draw an incredible crowd Saturday night. This is one of only 138 produced in the first model year—2017. It was ordered in Liquid Blue to match the specs of the first Ford GT shown to the public at the Detroit Auto Show. All painted surfaces are protected with industry leading Xpel protective film. With VIN #77, a nod to Cena's birth year, this Ford GT has quite a history already.

The car is one with a controversial past. Ford sued Cena for selling it shortly after he received it, instead of waiting the 24 months he was supposed to according to a contract he had with the car company. Cena's lawyers settled the lawsuit earlier this year and the money Ford received was donated to charity.*

The Ford GT is slated for auction this Saturday at the Russo and Steele Collector Automobile Auction. The event is among an elite list that contributes to Monterey's Historic Car Week. Russo and Steele holds the hottest ticket to Monterey's race weekend and is billed as the "Mecca of Collector Automobiles." This is the eighteenth year for Russo and Steele in Monterey.
