First book in a series offers tips to assist kids with social emotional needs
Johnnie Myers Sr. announces the release of 'Little Johnnie Goes to School'
SOMERSET, N.J., April 14, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Johnnie Myers Sr. marks his debut in the world of children's fiction with the release of "Little Johnnie Goes to School" (published by AuthorHouse). First in a planned series, the book aims to address children's social emotional issues which affect their learning, as readers are taken to a little boy's first days of school.
Little Johnnie does not want to go to school. He is behind in his reading, writing and math skills and has temper tantrums and feelings of separation anxiety. He is so afraid and believes that his father intends to leave him like his mother did, so Johnnie is emotionally attached to his dad. Will he be able to make friends and adjust to have a positive school experience?
Offered to educators and parents, of all cultures and ethnicities, the book presents suggestions to help children with social emotional needs in order to provide them a positive academic experience as lifelong learners.
"Social emotional development affects all of us and we all remember our first days of school and what we went through, felt and experienced," Myers shares. "This book and the books to come will provide tips and suggestions to help teachers as well as parents and caregivers help children adjust to a positive academic experience as lifelong learners."
Moreover, Myers has created lesson plans to align the book to the New Jersey Teaching and Learning Standards. A copy will be available to all readers at http://www.littlejohnniebooks.com.
