Unique Electric Solutions (UES) noted it has passed the two-year milestone since its first electric repowered package truck for UPS was deployed. In service since November 2018, the truck was successfully converted from diesel to battery electric and then returned to daily operation in New York City. The clean, quiet and efficient vehicle was the first in a series of ongoing conversions for UPS in both New York and California operations.
“This service milestone confirms that the reliability and performance of electric powertrains can be brought to existing on-road vehicles without the cost and lead time associated with new vehicles” said Joe Ambrosio, CEO of Unique Electric Solutions.
The conversions are based on the uniqueEV™ platform, a battery electric drivetrain designed for the Class 4-7 chassis used in walk-in vans, delivery trucks, shuttle buses, refrigerated trucks and service vehicles. Developed by Unique Electric Solutions, the uniqueEV™ system is available as both conversion for on road vehicles as well as fitment into new chassis.
