FirstService Residential and Silo Point Held its First Service Day Supporting the Francis Scott Key Elementary/Middle School in Baltimore City
FirstService Residential, Silo Point residents, business partners and the community banded together to participate in the First Annual Day of Service Day supporting the Francis Scott Key Elementary/Middle School
BALTIMORE, Sept. 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On Saturday, September 14, FirstService Residential, the leading residential property management company in North America, partnered with the residents of Silo Point, a high-rise community it manages, along with vendors, partners and other area businesses to hold its Day of Service benefiting the Francis Scott Key Elementary/Middle School in Baltimore City.

A group of nearly 60 sponsors and over 130 volunteers spent the day completing numerous projects at the school, including:
- Painting of the school's 18-foot high monument
- Interior cleaning of floors, hallways, bathrooms, classrooms, windows and more
- Extensive landscaping redesign and installation
- Donation of new gym equipment, school supplies and new carpeting in multiple areas
The event's sponsor included BrightView Landscaping, Heartline Fitness, CertaPro Painters, Planned Companies and American Pool.
In conjunction with the Day of Service, a U. S. flag was donated to FSK. On Sept. 13 students from the school were on hand to witness the flag flying for the first time at Locust Point's Fort McHenry, birthplace of "The Star-Spangled Banner". The flag flew at Fort McHenry for the day, was returned to FSK and raised on Sept. 14 at the school, which will be its permanent home.
