Five Bunches to Resultum 2013, Excellence Recognized in Umberto Cesari
The prize was given by Bibenda, one of Italy's best wine guide.
NEW YORK, Nov. 23, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Five Bunches goes to Resultum 2013. Bibenda, one of Italy's leading voices in the world of fine wine, has given the highest recognition to one of the flagships of Umberto Cesari, known around the world as an Ambassador of Sangiovese di Romagna. A wine with great longevity, Resultum 2013 marks the beginning of a new story for Umberto Cesari, recalling the past and giving rise to the future. And it all begins with the true hero of the story, the grape.
Resultum 2013 brings with it all the nuances of Sangiovese in its purest form. It is in fact one hundred percent Sangiovese fermented in steel and refined only in the bottle. Made from grapes grown on the Miravalle Estate. Resultum is characterized by vineyards with various exposures, allowing for optimal grape selection based on climatic conditions of the various vintages. As the Latin root (resilire) suggests, it owes its name to the ability to adapt to change, including changes in climate that gift a wine great character, structure, strength, and glimpse of the land.
Resultum 2013 is a juicy and enjoyable red wine with an intriguing bouquet of floral, fruity and vegetable notes. Aromas of violet rose, peony, plum and blackberry are combined with aromas of tobacco, hay and mushrooms, thyme, and vanilla. Equipped with a pleasant acidity, it is characterized by powerful tannins and a silky consistency. An essential wine that does not age in barrel, but exclusively in the bottle for 12 months to further enhance its elegance, harmony and finesse. It has a very low sugar residue, but is still soft on the palate, and perfectly pairs with meat-based pastas and aged cheese.
It is with great satisfaction that Umberto Cesari, who this year obtained 17.5 points out of 20 from Jancis Robinson for Resultum 2012, accepts the highest score given to a Sangiovese wine. Such results were echoed by the International Wine & Spirits Competition in London giving the flagship 96 points out of 100; a significant recognition considering that the references are tasted blindly.
And it does not stop there, Umberto Cesari's Resultum continues to impress the top critics with its high quality: Resultum 2012 obtained 92 points from James Suckling who described it as "very fresh on the nose with notes of raspberry and licorice, present hints tarry as well as black pepper. With a good structure and lively, the acidity enhances the qualities of freshness and ripe tannins." Umberto Cesari's Resultum was also given the highest awards by The Wine Hunter Helmut Köcher and Luca Maroni, who gave Resultum 2012 93 points in his Yearbook of the Best Italian Wines 2020.
A series of awards that celebrate not only the quality of the wine, but also that acknowledge Umberto Cesari as a true leader of the Romagna territory. Through enhancement and rediscovery of native vines, Umberto Cesari brings excellence to Sangiovese.
