“I Want to Cut My Hair!”: a brilliant read about acknowledging one’s own differences and embracing their beauty. “I Want to Cut My Hair!” is the creation of published author Flaca Garza, a dyslexia specialist, applied ELA teacher, and a volleyball and tennis coach. She enjoys reading and writing in my spare time.
Flaca Garza & Jayden Garza share, “Jay was so excited about going to school. She loved the whole idea of what school was all about. She couldn’t wait to get started. Then she met Cindy. She couldn’t understand why Cindy didn’t like her. She tried everything to make Cindy like her, but everything about her was wrong. At least that’s what Cindy told her—even her hair! What’s wrong with her hair? She couldn’t tell Mom because then she would be so disappointed, and she liked seeing Mom happy about her learning. She had to talk to someone, and most of all she had to cut her hair! It was the only way Cindy would ever be her friend.”
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Flaca Garza & Jayden Garza’s new book lays down a moral value to the young readers about individual uniqueness and beauty. This reminds them that no matter what the world says, they are all beautiful as they are all made as God wants them.
