Career service covers in-demand industries, job titles, and advice for aspiring anywhere remote workers
BOULDER, Colo., April 24, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Work-from-anywhere jobs, or fully remote jobs free of any location requirements, remain some of the most in-demand roles in the current job marketplace. Coveted by job seekers and digital nomads alike, the sought-after positions provide the ultimate benefit in location freedom and flexibility. Historically however, work-from-anywhere jobs have only accounted for a small percentage (approximately five percent) of all remote jobs. To help job seekers assess current work-from-anywhere career opportunities, FlexJobs has identified the top 30 companies hiring for work-from-anywhere jobs so far in 2023, as well as the top industries and job titles hiring for these popular positions.
"Work-from-anywhere roles are highly desirable to job seekers and some of the most competitive to land," said Toni Frana, Lead Career Expert at FlexJobs. "With the majority of professionals seeking flexibility and remote work options, it's likely this trend will continue to grow. Fortunately, and as seen in our list of top companies, more employers across industries are willing to embrace work-from-anywhere arrangements. We hope this list helps demonstrate the career options and connects today's cohort of anywhere workers to the available opportunities out there," Frana added.
To create the top 30 companies for work-from-anywhere jobs list, FlexJobs analyzed its database between January 1 and April 15, 2023 to determine which companies had the highest volume of work-from-anywhere job postings that met the following criteria:

Given the interest in work-from-anywhere jobs, FlexJobs' career experts share the following advice for digital nomads and job seekers pursuing a work-from-anywhere career path.
Ask Preliminary Questions
While exciting, being a digital nomad can be challenging when combining a career with travel. Prior to embarking on an "anywhere worker" lifestyle or applying for work-from-anywhere jobs, FlexJobs' career experts advise workers to ask themselves the below questions.
- What are the pros and cons of working from anywhere?
- Which remote work skills are required, and do I have them?
- What are my top travel destinations?
- How well does the employer support digital nomad workers?
Identify & Set a Budget
Assessing expenses and putting together a budget is essential before becoming a digital nomad. Consider whether rent or a mortgage will need to be paid while traveling. How much will be budgeted for hotels, hostels, and the like? What about food, transportation, and internet? Whether a worker has a full-time job, or freelance gigs, determining how being a digital nomad will add expenses to their budget––and if the money they're bringing in each month is enough––is critical.
Research the Work-from-Anywhere Job Market
A nomadic lifestyle involves a two-way commitment between worker and employer. Said another way, employers have to be as fully committed as workers to the idea of working from anywhere. When conducting a job search, utilize trusted resources like FlexJobs' list of companies for work-from-anywhere jobs, and keep an eye out for employers that have supported this style of working.
Communicate Remote Work Experience & Skills
Because being an "anywhere worker" is growing in popularity, there can be stiff competition for the roles. Candidates can stand out by using their resume to demonstrate why they're a great fit for the job, specifically highlighting:
- Previous remote work experiences, included as the location of the job (Name of Company | Remote) and in job responsibilities
- A "Remote Work Experience" section on resumes
- A "Technology" section, highlighting past experience with remote tools like Zoom, Google Suite, Trello, etc.
