HICKSVILLE, Ohio, Jan. 16, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Stoett Industries announces their new division and product line, Flood Containment Systems. Flood Containment Systems™ (FCS) has created a lightweight, reusable, and stackable water containment panel system that is made of 100% recycled materials designed to hold back emergency and expected floodwaters up to 36" high.
The FCS Containment Panels* are injection-molded, "L"-shaped water containment panels that use the water's own weight and downward pressure to keep the panels upright and steady even under impacts during debris-laden flooding events. The panels snap together to form a wall to protect buildings, streets, and other flood-prone and vulnerable areas. The panels can also be used to create holding ponds for water retention and agricultural purposes.
Jack Stover, founder of Stoett Industries and innovator of FCS said, "We spent a lot of time and energy looking at how communities prepare for and prevent flooding issues in North America and around the world. We discovered that the ease of deploying a system was key to protecting people and property. So we developed a lightweight, three-foot-tall panel system that, for example, could protect an area 100-feet long and be deployed by two people in up to 60 minutes."
Using the containment panels for emergency and expected flooding events offer a unique benefit not available when using traditional sandbags. One-hundred feet of lightweight panels, made of recycled plastic and ground tire rubber, replace the approximately 1,800 sandbags it takes to build a 100-foot long, three-foot-high wall. Each full sandbag weighs up to 30 lbs. or more which translates into over 27 tons of sandbags that need to be filled, transported, placed, and ultimately removed from the flood zone.
Weighing only 29 pounds each, the panels can be transported, placed, and removed in less time, using fewer personnel, and at a lower cost than traditional sandbags. One person could assemble the same 100-foot long, three-foot-high wall in a flood plain – before or during the flooding event** – in a fraction of the time it would take a team of volunteers to assemble a similar sandbag wall.
"The benefit to emergency, facility, utility, rental, and agricultural managers is almost immeasurable," said Rick Horn, chief operating officer for FCS. "The containment panels are truly a 21st Century solution for our nation's flooding preparedness and response problem. The flexibility of the containment panels when coupled with the corner panels increases its usability across non-emergency situations as well."
The FCS panels can be deployed with the corner panels to achieve 45° or 90° containment of flood or holding pool waters. When used on uneven or grassy surfaces, the panel anchors help to ensure solid contact with the ground. The stainless steel frame and front skirt provide additional rigidity for extended use and to direct oncoming water above the leading edge of the panel ensuring the water's direction is controlled.

**NOTE: When placing during a flood event, the assembler must take the proper precautions to ensure the area is not too dangerous to complete the wall. Always listen to local authorities during emergency events.
