Homeowners looking to update their floors now have a new resource to help them make the right choice following Flooring Clarity’s release of latest statistics and survey results for the Vinyl Flooring Market.
The company collated results from customers who purchased and installed DIY flooring between 2014 and 2019. The new data shows the:
- Dollar sales of vinyl flooring in the U.S. from 2014-2019
- Reasons for installing new vinyl flooring
- Main reasons customers chose vinyl flooring
- Vinyl brands customers purchase
- Average paid per square footage for vinyl flooring
- Where customers purchased the vinyl flooring
- Which rooms customers installed vinyl flooring
- Whether customers hired a pro or opted for DIY
According to the statistics vinyl flooring sales increased drastically from 2 billion in 2014 to just over 6 billion in 2019. Damaged floors and updated décor were the top reasons for installing new vinyl flooring and the kitchen was the most common place to install the flooring. Life Proof and Shaw blew away the competition as the leading brands of choice for vinyl floors. When it comes to mode of purchase, store and online purchases are almost on par with 53.16 percent buying in store and 46.84 percent buying online. As it relates to installation, most customers installed their vinyl flooring themselves with only 29 percent seeking the services of a contractor.
Flooring Clarity is the leading source for the most up to date news on flooring materials. They offer buyer guides information on flooring technology and reviews of next-generation products from Pergo, Shaw, Mohawk, Trex, Fiberon and MoistureShield on a weekly basis.
